Lifelong learning

"Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere."

- Chinese proverb

The wisest people never stop learning. They are not know-it-alls either, because they understand they can never know everything. Learning is a part of our growth and development. When we choose to stop learning, we cease our pursuit of understanding ourselves and the world we live in. Learning should not be seen as a chore, but rather a privilege and opportunity to expand our knowledge of this entire experience we call life and our place within the Universe.

Not everyone chooses to learn. There are people who think they learned everything they need to know once they became an adult, so there is no further need for them to continue learning. Some of those people also refuse to continue learning about themselves. There are also people who choose to believe what they are told instead of doing the research for themselves, which leads to being misinformed. To each their own. It's unfortunate because it prevents society from learning and growing as a whole, but it should not deter us as individuals from continuing to learn and grow.

It's important for us to keep learning and growing as individuals. It's part of human nature. I couple learning and growing since learning is what contributes to our individual growth. Learning is not just about the facts. It should also involve learning about ourselves. It helps us to better interpret the facts. Learning about ourselves also requires learning to let go of what we once believed when presented with facts that tell us otherwise. That's where real growth occurs, when we are willing to challenge and change our beliefs through learning.

If I have learned anything in life, it's that it is important to keep learning about everything. About myself. About others. About life. About anything I am passionate or curious about. There is so much we can learn in life. We are only limited by our curiosity and willingness to keep learning. Hopefully you do not see learning as a chore, but rather a privilege and opportunity to expand your knowledge and understanding of the world and your place in it. Keep embracing those learning opportunities every day! It helps us to keep leveling up in life.
